Beginning with Bloomsday....

So today is the day! A big day for me! It is a beginning and in a way it is an ending. I am beginning to see all the things that are really important that are in my life. I am going to hit the pavement and go for my first running event two months or so after having my baby. I am so excited and I am looking forward to all the noise, crowds and miles ahead. I know it's not a marathon or even a half marathon....but when all is said and done today I will have logged in a 12k plus an extra half mile...so that makes eight. I was thinking back to right after Izzy was born and I could hardly get up off the floor. Now I am feeling ready to train and step it all up a notch.

I have been running this past week two miles at a time and I felt so good. I had originally planned on only running 10 minutes or so to see how I felt since I haven't run in many months but I just kept going. I stopped at two because I know I need to go slow...one mile at a time.

I feel so lucky, and so blessed to have my beautiful family. I didn't realize how your life can change once you have your babies. You grow as they grow and you learn from them too. Even when they are teeny tiny gurgling babies, or terribly cute two, or making you laugh hysterically at almost eight. I also realized that I can do this....being a mommy. I am doing this! I am becoming a better person because of my beautiful loving, caring, strong and patient husband. I am becoming a better person because of my three beautiful, sweet, and oh so funny girls.

I know I am being all sappy this morning. But I am so happy and I am so excited for the future here. I am so thankful to be able to wake up and get ready for this race....so here we go! WML...I love everyone and wish you a great Sunday! :)

I think your accomplishment at Bloomsday should have made the headlines too (see here) -- I mean is anyone shocked that a Kenyan won. (Ooooh, yeah I said it. Suck it.) I rather everyone knew who was the most determined runner that just delivered a baby a few short months ago!

I ate an ice cream cone in your honor, btw. You're #1! Mmmm...chocolate chips.

Thanks Girlie! Thank you for all the love. I ran 7.46 miles today and only walked 8-10 min of the whole thing because I knew if you were there you would have just made me keep running.
