Life is Beautiful....Welcome 2009!!

First I just wanted to say thank you for all your love and kind words about my Dog. I was heartbroken because she has been with me well over a decade. She has followed me all over the country and been there with me through many significant events in my life. I was expecting to take her with me into the next chapter of my life and to the next new place.....but her little heart just tuckered out and she was ready to rest. She was a beautiful little spirit and I will carry her in my heart always.

So here it is 2009!!!! OMG....and I have to tell you I AM SO EXCITED! So much is going to happen this year and I hate to sound soupy and goopy all full of love and happiness....but I feel it. I know that this year is going to be a year of BIG change and full of challenges but I am so up for it and say BRING IT ON! I feel energized and I am learning more and more everyday what it is that I want out of life and where I need to apply myself.

Every year I sit down and write out my resolution list....and I have saved them for many years. Some years I accomplished more and kept more resolutions then others...and it is fun to look back and see how far I have come so far.

Some Resolutions I didn't keep over the years
+Learn to play hockey and join a womens league (Haven't been serious)
+Save up and hike the Appalachian trail (Um haven't had the time 6+ months worth)
+RUN A MARATHON (Um..WORKING ON IT...maybe third try is the charm)
+Be more pro-active within the community (volunteer ect...now I did some little things like work at a homeless shelter but I felt like I at the time I could have done more)
+Pay off all debt (I am getting there...so close)
+Learn Spanish (ok...I can sorta count this but not completely...I am still learning. I still am listening to those CD's once a week/month and try to learn new words when I actually have a minute. I took German in highschool and fortunately at least they have some similarities. It's better for my job for me to be bilingual....but I have a wicked long way to go....I can however say Mi tortuga es muy rapida...My turtle is very fast...so I'm getting somewhere right?)
+Write in my journal every day (TIME TIME TIME)

Some Resolutions I did keep (Yay)
+Run a half marathon
+Quit Dipping (Yes...I am a tom boy and I did what the boys did...including that disgusting habit
+Finish all my prerequisites for my RN program
+Deliver a healthy baby (and so she was delivered a strong healthy 4lb 9 oz p-nutt)
+Read more then 50 books in a year (I need to reincorporate this one)

There were alot of resolutions over the years....and I noticed as I get a little older and a little wiser my resolution lists become a little smaller each year. I also noticed that maybe I wasn't being as realistic when I was in my 20's and all starry eyed (or tanked) on New Years. I also now have some goals and resolutions that include my girls and LOVA. At least I can look back and see me and who I am and see that I had and have Hopes and Dreams that I can share with my girls when they get older.

So that leaves us with this years resolutions....I won't bore you with the entire list....I am looking to try and RUN A MARATHON this year. Thats on the top of the list along with bringing a healthy teeny weeny into the world. Mostly for this year I want to be more open to learning about life and connecting with people I love and admire. I want to accomplish some personal goals and do some things with and for my family.

Life is beautiful.....and I wish that in this upcoming year that everyone feel that. I am thankful for all that I have and I feel so blessed for so many different reasons. Sometimes when life gets tough/hard or throws you curve balls like when you have to deal with unhappy or not so nice people, or you lose someone you love or you just lose focus of what is important in general...it is nice to see what it is that you have to be happy about. I am determined to go into this new year with a happy healthy outlook and hopefully Kick it's ASS! :)

Lots of Love as Usual to everyone! I wish you the best and thank you for being a part of my life!

50+ books per year -- now THAT is a goal! :) I think Chasen is pretty close to that. I probably read about a dozen... but I DEVOUR Runner's World when it arrives - does that count? LOL

You have a big year ahead of you! I can sympathize. Ha! I, too, intend to run a marathon (but my targeted one is actually on like Jan. 3, 2010 -- close enough).
