P-nutts First HoopFest

This weekend was alot of fun. Daddy played in Hoopfest and we went to cheer him on! I did run my run on Saturday morning but after walking 5+ miles on Saturday all over downtown Spokane for Hoopfest and 6+ on Sunday for Hoopfest and walking parts of the Centennial Trail I was a little pooped Sunday night and decided I had logged in enough miles carrying the p-nutt all around. Jake played some great games and looked really good out there on the court. I think p-nutt was cheering for her Dad most of the time. The rest of the time she was too busy being a huge cheese and flirting with everyone that walked by.

Today me and the bubby bean went for close to six miles all over. Our last stop was the beach and the park where she managed to shovel in a little dirt when I was pulling something out of the backpack. Here are the pics....

This is the beginning of Week Five out of the whole 26 and I will be running another 35/35 on Tues and Thurs and 60 minutes on Sunday. I was thinking today about how I want each mile of the marathon to mean something and so I am coming up with a list. The first and last mile I run will be for my three babies....Jake, Shelbz and Baby Bean-nutt. Now I need to sit down and write out things for all the miles in between. I am working on my Pyramid chart again too....It was really motivating the last time around.....

As you can see I was so close.....but yet so far away. This is it for me...I'm ready to go all the way! (Inside I'm saying a little ARMY Hoo-ah). Wishing all a great week and great runs and saying a big hello to our little Cletus!

Oh sweet day of relaxation....you are my friend!

Ok. We made it back home. Today we just took the day off and relaxed with the P-nutt. It felt so good to just sit for a minute. I ran for 40 minutes last night with just one small stop when I was running up a good sized hill. I think I was still recovering from the "crud". I felt alot better after I finished the run and think it helped me to heal up.

I was looking at some upcoming races to run in the next few months. It's been a while since I ran a race and I know that I am ready to get back out there and see what kind of pace I'm running at. I had registered for a couple of races earlier this spring but I had other commitments to attend to and I don't think I was ready to run another half marathon just yet. I'm getting there. I'm looking forward to the weekend. I'll be running 35 minutes in the morning and then on Sunday I'll try 45min to an hour. In just a few weeks I'll be running strictly by mileage.

I was thinking today about how lucky I am. Sometimes life is just flying by and I feel caught up in the busy-ness of it all. I forget just for a split second that I have so much goodness in my life and I sometimes forget....just for a split second how grateful I truly am for all that it is that I have. Today was a really good day.

Busy busy Week #4

Been busy taking the P-nutt out and about. I ended up walking on Tuesday due to some minor respiratory crud. Feeling lots better today and will be out running tonight. Idaho is beautiful and the air smells like pine trees....imagine that. Will write more when we get back home. Wishing all a good week and weekend!

Bremerton Run

The run yesterday was a really great one. I did run some hills and I ended up running for 43 minutes. I walked for two minutes. This week the schedule changes a little bit and Tues/Thurs are up to 35 minutes and Sunday is 50 minutes. I am looking forward to increasing the run times because that means a gradual increase in the overall mileage. Plugging right on through.
It was so great to be on the west side of the state and enjoy the scenery. Don't get me wrong...the east side has its charm and beauty too....but I grew up on the water and I love just being able to look out at the Puget Sound. The view of the mountains from Bremerton was really beautiful too. I am going to miss the smell of the water and the city sidewalks. Some people think sidewalks are over rated...I think I took them for granted. :) But really it was nice to just be around friends and family and get my butt kicked by the hills chippa Jen introduced me to.
This week I have the pleasure of running in the beautiful state of Idaho. A little different pace....but lots new places to explore and environment to admire. Baby bean and I will be out and about with the backpack so that should give me some more leg work this week. 160 days and counting until Seattle....Time is going by so fast.

Ready to go...

I decided to change my mind about the "photojournalistic" fun run. I just realized how many hills I have got to get through over here and maybe stopping to admire the scenery isn't the smartest thing. WML...see you on the other side.

Week three...going strong!

This mornings run was awesome. I did some hill work and ran for a total of 40 minutes nonstop. I really felt good and I didn't even warm up this morning....I just started running first thing. Maybe the fresh ocean air has gotten to me...it feels good to be back over on the west side of the state. All in all it was a great run, a beautiful day and I look forward to putting in some mileage tomm (just walking probably 6) and running for 45 min on Sunday. I think I am going to bring a camera with me on Sunday and take a picture here and there to document the run! Kinda like a photojournalistic fun run! Should be interesting...until then...LoL

Week 3 Rockin so Far

Ok. I ran last night for half an hour. I actually in total put in over six and a half miles with walking as well. I was a little worn out at first....but I think that made me want to go the distance and then some even more. Week two was a little rough and I only ended running once on Saturday.

I can tell that I am getting back "into it" because for the first time in a while I could feel my mind and body go into what I like to call "auto pilot" mode. In this mode I don't really feel the pain or feel tired.....I just run and let my mind wander....kind of day dreaming I guess. It felt good to be able to do that again. Like I said earlier....it hurt me a few months back to even just get out there and get started and I was feeling the hurt at every step....not so much anymore. Next run tomm and it's another half an hour and then Sunday is 45 min.

It's summer and Shelbz is here.....yay! We have been having a blast and the p-nutt is happy to spend so much extra time with her big sissy. Little sissy follows big sissy everywhere and imitates just about everything she does. I love seeing them play and have so much fun together. Shelby is going to be 7 in just a few days....I can't believe it!

Well I'm off to walk another 6 miler. Trying to build up all the muscles and endurance....even on the "off" days. Wishing everyone a good rest of the week! Thanks for all the sweet posts and support and encouragement...it really helps.

Finally

I finally got out there and did my first run of the week. I did a 3 miler in about 40 minutes and felt ok. I think it was a little warm and even though the sun is wonderful it felt hot and no shade to be found. I feel good now that I got out there. Tomm is another 45 minute and I think I am going to head off to the track and do a timed mile to see how fast I can actually do a one miler. LOL until tomm.

Madness

Life is a little crazy at the moment...finals week and I am swamped and I only have one freakin class. OMG aghhhh.

Ok I ran last week and felt great. I ran a 46 minute run on Sunday without stopping and although I don't know the exact distance I do know it was a little over three miles. That is the first non stop run I have been on for over a half hour since October of 2006. I know that me and Chippa-ist Jen ran a nice 10k back in Sept 07 and I know I was supposed to have run a half marathon by now....but it has been a slooooooooow progression. Progression non the less. We stopped and walked some of that 10k....I was lucky she let me. I am feeling STRONGER and I am starting to feel like a real runner again because I can actually RUN and feel great. I could have gone on longer on Sunday but I figure this Sunday I'll shoot for an hour. I am going to run a half hour tonight (after todays madness) and tomorrow as well. I was suppossed to run yesterday but with all the paperwork and baby it just wasn't in the cards. Lots of goodness to everyone...

Week One....Off and Running

Ok...so here we are and it's Wed. I am out for a run tonight and really looking forward to it. Last week I ran three times somewhere around a half an hour each run. Now I know that doesn't look like alot at this point....but let me tell you....at the end of February I was struggling to run 15 minutes (oh how it hurt to be so out of shape). I am actually getting stronger and I can feel it. I think all the walking over the past couple of months and carrying P-nutt around in the back pack helped to strengthen some of those muscles that hadn't seen any work in awhile. I have added weights to my regimen as well....and though it hurts and pains me dearly (only because I hate to do it)....I am working out my abs.

So here is the official plan or what my goals are...Week One (of a 26 week plan one week per mile...26 total weeks until ol SEE-AT-ul) through Week Four I will be running only by time. This week I have three thirty minute runs to get in. I am also going to continue to walk because I love it and because it helps to boost my metabolism and work some other muscles. This week my goal for total mileage is 30 miles. I have been averaging somewhere between 20 and 25 over the past month or so and now it's time to bump it up a little.

So...179 days and counting down.
