Back on Track....almost

I got side tracked over Memorial Day weekend....great company, good food and a lost dog has found it's owner. On one of my runs last week a beautiful Malamute ended up following me home and stayed out in my yard for 4 days until we luckily found it's owner...At least I hope. I have been a little swamped with trying to catch up on the 50 thousand labs I needed to finish for Micro and p-nutt (formly known as the baby bean) has been a little sick with a cold. Doesn't stop her from running all over the house though. Ever since she started walking she left crawling behind and now I am actually chasing her all over the house and yard. It's crazy...one minute she was just barely taking a couple of wobbly steps at one time....and then she's all about the independence and running off. One year old....OMG!

So it's going on Thursday and I have only got some walking in this week. Next week however is going to be the official beginning of my "M" training. I am a little scared and alot excited. I am going to have to make a real committment....which is scarey.....but exciting. I think I can I think I can! I have been feeling really good about the running.
I wanted to take a minute and throw a big Congrats out to my one and only Chippa Jen. She is my bestest buddy and I am so happy to say that we will have a new little family member coming into the world. I know we won't be doing the marathon together this year....but I look forward to next year and running side by side with our BOB's and stopping off for coffee afterwards! LOL!

Baby on the Run!

The baby p-nutt is walking....she turned a year old and started to just take off. I am so excited. Yay!

My goal for this week in "pre" pre-training is to log 30 miles. I have been running mostly by time (20-25 minutes) 3 days a week and usually running 2 miles a stint. I am also walking alot of extra miles on the side to build up my endurance and to help keep me from getting shin splints. I can tell that I am getting stronger and the runs are getting easier. We ran two miles yesterday and walked 4.4 and tonight we ran a nice light mile and walked 4. Onwards and Upwards!

Plan of Action

I have been so busy lately with actually getting out there on the road, and with school and with baby and the other bazillion home improv projects that I haven't had time to write about my progress. I have been feeling like doing is more important then talking/writing...and thus far that just seems to be the case. I have decided that I am going to get back into the ol training regime/regimen.....whatever the correct verbage is for it. I am feeling the groove again and I am ready to take the next step and make a committment. I have decided that I have six months until Seattle and I feel like I might just have enough time to train to get there. I have also decided that I will register at the half way point. I will start the actual marathon training June 1st which gives me 26 weeks approx 6 months until the actual race date. The half way point is August 24th and so I will see where my fitness level is. So there you have it.
I woke up this morning and felt like I am ready. I have been running a little more and a little more and walking alot too. I can see and feel a difference since I started at the end of February and that really has made me feel good. So hopefully I can start logging in all my miles and take 5 minutes a day to write a blurb here.
P-nutt is doing great....she's my part time trainer when she's hanging out in the back pack. She's really excited about all this.....but even more so for her new cousin! yay!
