Am Running....will post later

I have been running. Things are great! I just have been a little swamped and of course the blog gets last little bit of attention. Need to log miles....need to get more sleep. Feeling great though and I love the great weather because it is really motivating to get out there. Will write more soon! LOL

Yesterday

Ok. You ever have one of those days where you thought....I GIVE UP...I'm going back to bed. Yesterday morning was one of those days that I like to catagorize as a small test of faith and maybe a karmic pay back for me cussing at someone when they cut me off on the highway somwhere.

It started out as any normal happy morning with me and baby pnutt. We got up, ate a little breakfast and from there it went crazy. I put pnutt down for a second to empty the dryer and drop the clothes basket off to the bedroom. When I cam back down the hall there was my baby sitting in a pile of diaper wipes (I had obviously left them within reach) with a big proud smile on her face as she looked straight at me and kept pulling them out. I frantically tried to shove them back into the case and tried to redirect the p-nutt. Then I remembered I had to check on something in the laundry room.....and walked into a puddle of water that was continuing to pour out from under the washing machine. We had just put in new flooring so I was panicking to get the shop vac into the house so I could suck up the water. I opened up the damn shop vac....I am sure I don't have to explain to you what it looked like in there....needless to say....IT WAS GROSS! After a few attempts of scooping the grossness out with my hand I just ended dumping it out on the garage floor. Now a pile of GROSS. I ran back into the laundry room only now the water was also gushing into the kitchen (and yes I had turned the water off) and my smiling mischievious child was crawling 50 miles an hour towards me and the puddle. I scooped baby up and put her in her crib with some toys hoping she would play for a minute while I continued to try and avert disaster.

Oh and did I tell you I had caught some nasty intestinal bug last week. I am 96% sure I managed to pick it up from Microbiology class. I wash my hands a million times a day so I am not sure how it happened....but I am around billions more of those little buggers in class. So in the midst of everything I had to run to to the little girls room. To make a long story short...I was in the midst of chaos.....water flooding the kitchen and laundry room, me rushing to the bathroom, baby screaming as I try to use a very loud shop vac, and the clock ticking and less then an hour until I had to leave to get baby to daycare and myself to class. Jake came home (and saved the day as usual) and I was able to at least get dressed and brush my teeth before I had to run out the door. It really was worse then it sounds....:)

So I survived yesterday and here I stand today refreshed and feeling much better. On Saturday I had made a pact with myself to set a goal of walking 36 miles in 6 days....meaning 6 miles a day. I figured I am going to be 36 this year so....thats how all that popped into my head. I did my 6 miles on Saturday but on Sunday due to the parisitic party going on in my intestinal tract I was only able to do 3. And yesterday....I managed to finish another 6. Even after the way the morning turned out and my parisitic visitors I was able to muster up the energy and get out there. I figured I would just add a mile and a half to my next two days to make up for the three I missed on Sunday.

I am running a little more now and starting to feel stronger and a little lighter on my feet. I am actually looking forward to the 10k on Sunday. I know I'll probably have to take a few walk breaks but I am ok with that at this point. Wishing everyone a great Tuesday and thanks for listening to me vent.

Back to School

So I am back to school as of yesterday. Microbiology is my last pre-req and then only 3 more quarters and I am officially an RN. I am looking forward to getting through this year. I am feeling itchy after my first class....especially after he described how many microbes/bacteria/microscopic critters are in one gram (raisen size) of poop. GROSS! In nursing you just can't help but be around the stuff....unless your smart and end up in management or education.
Natalie bean now has two teeth. My little teeny one is growing and it doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon. Shelbykins was here for spring break and the three of us girls had a blast when Daddy was off at work! She left yesterday (sniff sniff).
I took yesterday off due to the first day of school and wanting to spend a little time with Shelbz before she left. I am off to do a nice 5 miler....walking tonight. I think there are 17 days until the 10k and I am getting excited. Hope everyone has a great weekend! See ya on the flip side.

Yes we can!

Chipper Jen called me today. Boy can she give a motivating speech. I am ready to kick it into gear this week. I am ready to choose a marathon and give it all I've got. First I would like to keep my dignity intact and run this 10k in 19 days. Sometimes I think I need to redirect all/any negative energy that I may be feeling due to external forces and try and turn it into good running energy. Sometimes other stressors just end up wearing my butt out (and not the way I want it to be worn out either) and I think I could use thagt burst to run just a litlle faster. Hope that makes sense. This is a short post but I wanted to show that I am making the time. Tonight is a 20 minute run.....very short and sweet. Give ya an update tomm.
