Word of the Day....Time Management (ok 2 words)

I have been putting in my mileage even though I have been slcaking in the blogging dept. I guess I had to prioritize.....really run/walk get mileage in....or write about it/not doing it. I have been taking p-nutt aka baby bean aka bubby with me in th Bjorn or stroller for the first part of most workouts. It has been a great feeling to follow my schedule and get out there every day in the fresh air. It helps to keep me balanced. I am sorry that my blog has gotten the shaft...I will try to do my best to put a blurb in here as much as possible....I just haven't been the greatest at time managing....I know.....excuses excuses....yep we all got em.

The Word of the Day is Commitment

I am committed to running this 10K next month. I have been getting back into the swing of things...just not been writing about it. I felt the distances were so short and the struggle at first was so...um..... painful and I didn't want to be a downer by sitting here bitching about it. The distances that I am running are still short but I know what I need to do. I have 26 days until the 10K and about 55 until the half marathon.....ok I count down the days like everyday.

As part of my commitment I am going to blog each and everyday. I felt like it would help keep me accountable and let me journal these 26 days so I could look back and see what progress I have made. I told myself that if I can run a decent time and feel comfortable during the half marathon in May then I can think about registering and committing to Seattle in November.

This morning I got up at 5 am and went out for a walk/run 10 minute walk 15 minute run. I felt great and probably could have run for a 30 minute stretch. I am taking it really SLOW. I am always overly cautious in the beginning because I don't want to take a chance on getting injured. I have been building up my endurance by walking. I know some hard core runners are anti-walk....but I was able to run my first half marathon ever after only running 5-8 milers because I had walked more long distances (10-14milers). I did a four miler yesterday and will do another one tomm. Today it was the morning run and whatever walking I can get in with the P-nutt in the stroller. She's committed too... :)

I am on Chipper Jenn duty this week...I don't know if I am really doing such a great job in motivating my partner in crime aka my best friend. She knows who she is. I know she wants to be committed too. If I didn't live 25 billion freaking miles away from her I would be on her front door right now....she really should watch out.

So here's to 26 days.....wish me luck!

OK...Time to Get it ON!

I have been running. I am officially registered for the Wenatchee 10k in April and the Capitol City Marathon in May. I have a running schedule and a new pair of shoes. I have a partner in crime to help pick me up by my Yaktrax if I am feeling lazy. I am feeling refreshed and my spirit rejuvenated and regenerated. I am back on the path of righteousness....and it feels damn good to have a goal again.
