Note to Self

When it is 4'odark thirty in the am foggy, 26 degrees out and you can not run along the side of the road due to snow pile up...make sure that...

A. You are wearing spikes when you run/walk

B. Maybe run/walk on treadmill

C. Just go the hell back to bed stupid

Or remember that you will be picking yourself up off the cold icy ground sitting on your cold rump and wishing you had instead chosen A, B,or C.

Starbucks is coming...Starbucks....yay

OK I know it is sad. Sad, sad, sad. I am sitting up at 3:39 in the morning blogging because I can't sleep. I'm dressed and ready to go out for a short run...warm up walk and then short run. Baby has begun sleeping in her crib at night but still wakes up for an early morning snack and so I am wide awake. I tried to go back to sleep but I just can't. I would rather get up and make use of the peacefulness then lie in bed and toss around. So....here I am.

Starbucks is coming. I found the proof on "Monster Jobs" the other day. I wasn't sure if it was a rumor....and I wanted to be damn sure before I got my hopes up. Truth be told...I don't even like coffee. If I choke a cup of coffee down it is purely for the caffeine rush that I so desperately need and love. When I moved to Washington all the coffee stands and the obsession with coffee was foreign to me. If you don't live here and then come for a visit from anywhere else in the country you'd see what I mean. So...to make a long story short I met a girl who introduced me to Starbucks. She shall remain nameless...but she knows who she is. I started drinking "Grande Peppermint Mocha's" all year round...and I love them. LOVE THEM. I moved to a little town a couple of years ago...from the "BIG" city. Starbucks was everywhere in the "BIG"city. Now if I want a peppermint mocha I have to drive 50 miles or more to get one. Sad, sad, sad. Honestly I am just glad that a little piece of "home" from the coast has followed me over here to the small town (and that that piece wasn't the rain). It just makes this place a little more homey and maybe not so small. This town is a "someplace" because Starbucks is a-comin. Yaaaaaaay!

So there you have it. I ecstatic and thrilled. The construction looks to be going along smoothly and it is only 1.2 miles from my house. Perfect place to stop after my morning run...I'm off now to smell the fresh frozen morning air. Ta-ta.

oh let it snow.. let it snow..let it snow!

Oh the snow is here. It feels like winter and it makes me feel more Christmas-sey. I love it. I have been run/walking since the roads are a little slick (plus I am still putzing my way back into shape). I think I am feeling a little more upbeat since I started lifting some weights and getting out to exercise more. Nothing like clean, fresh, valley air. (Sounds like a commercial for a freakin fabric softener) We must have a good 6/7 inches by now...it just keeps coming down.

On the bean/peanut front....she has finally graduated to the next size up in diapers....the big size two. She is a mischievous one. She is starting to get into the swing of the crawling thing and she wants to play with everything that she isn't supposed to. I'll have 20 toys out for her to play with and she will just crawl right by them and me and go for whatever is across the room. She keeps trying to stand....and when she figures she can grab onto something to pull herself up I know we are going to be in for trouble. She is faster then a little speeding bullet I tell ya......This morning I pulled a sticker off of my lap top and put it on the counter. I picked up the wee one and was holding her as I was reading the news this morning and it took like one nano second for her to eat the sticker.

I freaked out when she started doing the funky sputter....probed her mouth and out it came. My heart was beating out of my chest when I saw that thing come out of her mouth. First paper and now this. Lesson learned little peanut...and probably 2 days shaved off my life due to the panic and rise of my bloodpressure.

The flooring in our kitchen is going down beautifully. Jake rocks...I can't wait for it to be done. I put some of the before and after pics on Flickr. I can't wait for the dining room and the front entrance to be done....but one thing at a time (or a million little things).

Well...I am off to work on some more painting and then get outside for my walk/run. Lol from and hope everyone has a great first week of December.
